Sun-Z-R is a unique cladding technology, by cladding corrosion resistant metals such as Ti, Nb, Ta, and Zr to base metal such as steel, copper and aluminum.
What is Sun-Z-R?
"Sun-Z-R" is a unique cladding technique for applying very thin sheets (0.2 to 2mm) of corrosion resistant metals such as titanium, niobium, tantalum, zirconium, and utilizing their superior corrosion resistance, to base metal such as steel, copper, aluminum and etc. Because this technique is completely different from explosion bonding method or roll clad method, it gives extremely high adaption to applications, with short delivery time and excellent economy, regardless of the shape and thickness of the base and clad metals.
Superiority of this technique has been acknowledged by the awarding of Gold Prize for industrial field in The First Titanium Application Competition held by TITANIUM DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION (now International Titanium Association) of America in 1985 and it has obtained an international reputation. Its bond strength is beyond even the explosion bonding strength, and has already been proven in various peel and shear tests, and has been proven to have complete reliability under high pressure and vacuum conditions, with long history of more than 3,000 delivery records.
Compared with glass lined or resin coated, the Sun-Z-R equipment is superior in mechanical impact resistance, and aged deterioration. It is able to use Sun-Z-R equipment semi-permanently, so it enables to achieve significant reduction of maintenance labor and the industrial waste treatment costs. You will be able to recover the initial investment in total.
Applications
Sun-Z-R has a great deal of flexibility in fabrication that applied to various equipments of various shape and size.
Examples of applications are shown in following.
Column and Vessel
Corrosion resistant metals of 0.2 to 2mm in thickness are clad to the inside of column and vessel up to 3,700 mm in diameter (within limit of land transportation).
» Chemical Process
Plate
Corrosion resistant metal clad plates are produced for your further fabrication to complete applications such as very large columns, vessels and reactors, which is beyond the limit of land transportation. Lining materials are prepared slightly away from the edge of base metal for further assembling weldments. This eliminates machining lining material off for welding purpose.
Tube Sheet
Corrosion resistant metals of 0.2 to 2mm in thickness are Sun-Z-R clad on tube sheets (maximum 200mm thick base plate) of heat exchangers of maximum 3,700mm ID(the limit of land transportation).
» Chemical Process : Heat Exchanger
Corrosion Resistant Bus Bar
Round, square and flat base metals such as copper, aluminum and steel are clad with corrosion resistant metals for anodic and cathodic bus bars.
» Surface Finishing : Sun-Z-R Bar
Electrode
Platinum foils of minimum 3.5 micrometers in thickness are Sun-Z-R clad on solid plates or Sun-Z-R clad plates to be epoch-making electrodes.
» Surface Finishing : Platinum clad Titanium Anode
Processible corrosion resistant metals
Titanium, Titanium Alloys, Zirconium, Niobium, Tantalum, Nickel Alloy, Platinum and etc
